Documentary Planning

Our Documentary is on how popular music has changed through time. This documentary idea is very interesting because it has changed a lot since the 40's and there a lot of factors within music to talk about and debate about now. We can compare the past musical icons to the modern-day musical equivalents, E.G: Rolling Stones to The Black Keys. We would use archive footage of past events and get our own interviews with people that have something to say about music.
Interviews we are going to get from people in the industry...

After this 'Montage' we will introduce the topic of 'How pop music has changed through time'.

Opening

This section of the documentary shall set the scene of what the documentary shall be based on. Our opening shall show many of the different ages of pop music. Here we shall opening the documentary most likely with a voice over explaining 'music is in a constant change but is it for better or for worse?'

Middle Of Documentary

We will speak to the general public and musicians/bands giving them interviews to get there views and opinions on the topic. When we speak and ask questions to the public, we will talk to a range of different people from different ages so the documentary is fairly balanced. This portion of the documentary shall have factual information within it. We shall analyse some of the many genres of the current time and possibly give a slight rhetorical question for the audience to make their own decision on which leads into the next section of the documentary.

End

At the end of the documentary we do not want to be seen as being judgmental towards certain genres of pop music. So as I explained before we shall give the audience a slight mode of a rhetorical question for them to make their own mind up on what they prefer in terms of pop music. This shall end it on a conclusion without being seen to be slanderous or judgmental.
