Pre Planning for Wild Camping

Lake District 2014 (Pre Planning)

I originally had the idea to go wild camping with my brother and cousin, we have always been very close since we were young, but recently in the last couple of years grown apart because of university and jobs, so what a great way to get us all together and have a cracking boys trip then wild camping.

Because I travel up and down the country (England, United Kingdom) a lot, I recommended we should use a train to travel to wherever we wanted to go. The choices of location we wanted to camp were either the Lake District, Snowdonia or Dartmoor. As the Lake District is relatively easy to get to on the train from London we picked that, but also its because we wanted the mountainous terrain to test our hiking skills.

The planning for the trip came next, my brother made a list of items we all needed to have, I booked all of the train tickets to get us up there to Windermere.
We had to start thinking about what food we was going to bring, these prepared food sachets from Wayfayer seemed like a good choice.

We also brought lots of snack food like breakfast bars to keep our energy high. The cooker I suggested to get, was some sort of Triangia so was purchased the Triangia 25 which is a genius piece of equipment!

Over the course of the weeks coming up to the trip we purchased lots of gadgets and gizmo's, one being the Garmin eTrex 30 GPS which proved to be literally a life saver on our trip, it's a very useful device.

A New Beginning

This blog was only for my A-Level Media work from 2011 to 2013. I frequently think about how much I have previously enjoyed adding posts into this blog.

"Robert Welland's Blog", was a seed planted in the year 2011, There is a new chapter with, like a young child looking up the attic stair case, an unlimited end.

The goal of this is to entertain, inspire or somehow educate you. I am at university studying "Radio Production", this has had a dramatic affect on my life, the past year has been the happiest of my life; so let's keep it that way.

A lot has happened since leaving sixth-form, in just a year I have gone from a comfortable 30mph to a sky rocket 500!
